seattle basketball news

Washington made its first appearance on the NCAA tournament bracket of ESPN guru Joe Lunardi.

He projects the Huskies will appear in on of the play-in games as a No. 12 seed in the West region. UW is paired against No. 12 Notre Dame in the play-in game for the right to play No. 5 Indiana. The Omaha, Nebraska region also includes No. 4 Marquette. Washington could also face No. 1 Duke in Sweet 16 and No. 6 Gonzaga in the Elite Eight.

It’s an interesting projection.

California is a No. 9 seed and is the only other Pac-12 team on Lunardi’s bracket.

Here’s a poll we’re running on the main sports web page.
